Sex Worker: Still not asking for it by dyke-recovery

I’m a feminist and a sex worker and i am so very, very sick of the “is it rape or theft if you fuck a hooker?” or the i use to get “You work in a strip club you shouldn’t get pissed off when someone tries to touch you, you’re the one working there”. Sorry but this is a service, not the selling of ones’ body or body parts. We own us, we decide how much we do, NOT the client or patron. We have the same rights as every other woman; to feel safe not only in our personal lives but in our work lives. It is not okay to do more than what is agreed to when paying for a service from a sex worker. If you are told no, you are told NO.

If a banker gets robbed did he deserve it because he is a banker? No.

If a soldier is shot during war, did he deserve to be shot purely for being a soldier? No.

Does a psychologist deserve to be verbally attacked because they’re paid to listen to other people’s thoughts? No.

So does a sex worker deserve to have their services abused purely because they are working in the sex industry? No.

Um I’m pretty sure a “sex worker” is just a fancy term for prostitution so I think that deems your argument invalid

Um actually a sex worker is a prostitute, a stripper, a cam worker, a porn star a porn model, a sugar baby so no my fucking argument is not invalid and if a prostitute says “hey man i don’t do x service” THAT DOES NOT GIVE THE CLIENT THE RIGHT TO DO X SERVICE JUST BECAUSE CLIENT HAS PAID FOR A SERVICE AND IF A SEX WORKER OF ANY KIND INCLUDING A PROSTITUTE SAYS NO THE ANSWER IS NO. “NO” DOES NOT BECOME INVALID JUST BECAUSE THE PERSON SAYING NO IS A PROSTITUTE.

What do you expect as a prostitute? In our society prostitutes aren’t respected and while that sucks and it shouldn’t be like that, it is. I think everyone kind of knows that.

So just because society doesn’t respect prostitutes, they saying ‘no’ doesn’t matter? So you think it’s okay for a prostitute to get raped EVEN THOUGH she said ‘no’ just because she gets paid for it and because her job isn’t ‘respected by society’? Because that’s what you’re saying.

No I’m saying that why should someone respect your ‘no’ if you can’t respect society’s ‘no’ to prostitution being wrong. It takes respect to get respect.

This is why I can’t stand feminist.

You do realize there’s a significant difference between something being disliked by society and being VIOLENTLY FORCED TO DO SOMETHING AGAINST YOUR WILL, RIGHT?

So by your logic, being a part of something disliked means that people have the right to abuse in any way because “it takes respect to get respect.” Do you honestly not see the problem with that?

No no no no no prostitution is not “being disliked”. Prostitution is ILLEGAL. this is basic. How are you going to complain about a man breaking the law (rape) when you’re breaking the fucking law? That’s like me robbing a store then trying to complain when someone robs the items I stole. This is bigger than just rape and prostitution. It’s about common sense. You’re being paid hundreds to have sex with someone, and all of a sudden you want to have standards about what you will and wont do? Maybe if you’re going to be like that you shouldn’t have gotten into prostitution.

Hahahaha. Prostitution is not illegal, at least not everywhere. Brothels are a lot more illegal than the act of prostitution itself on the broader scale of things, know the law.

No means no.
Regardless of the situation.
You can be married for 40 years and no would still mean no.
You can be a prostitute and no means no.
If you believed in the respect for respect principle, you would understand this concept. But obviously to your closed mind, women that self their bodies have no respect for themself, which is what you obviously feel without expressing in words.
I seriously just. Just cannot fathom the stupidity coming out of this person.

This is a homeless guy who lives on a bridge in Dublin City. Last week his rabbit was grabbed from him and thrown into the river below.. the River Liffey. Which is one of the most horrible rivers in Ireland. The currents are really strong and it’s filthy.. Anyway, as soon as the rabbit hit the water this guy was already hurdling off the bridge and towards the freezing river to save her. After hitting the water and successfully locating her, he proceeding to pump air back into her, making her regain consciousness and basically come back to life. I was talking to him today along with another woman and she asked “Why in the name of God did you jump into the water? Did you not think about it?!” and straight away he replied with “No. I didn’t stop to think. I just jumped. It was an instinct.. I needed to save her.”

For saving the rabbit, he was given the ‘compassionate citizen award’ by the charity Aran. The guy who threw the rabbit in the river has been charged with animal cruelty.

The homeless man was also given carrots for his rabbit and dog food for his dog. They also offered him a job.

This is a great man.

I’m glad the heartless imbecile who threw the rabbit into the river got his comeuppance

When I lived in Dublin last semester I saw this guy all the time. He was so nice, so polite, so kind. I’m pissed that someone would do that to his rabbit, but not surprised that he went in after her.
